Is Disney Table Service Dining Really Worth It? My Honest Take as a Frequent Guest

by Jenna Caron

Let’s talk Disney table service dining — because if there’s one thing I love almost as much as being in the parks, it’s eating my way through them. And listen… Disney meals are kind of like Disney hotels: people either fully get the obsession or look at you like you’ve just told them you spent $40 on a salad (which, honestly, sometimes you did). But here’s my honest take after years of visiting, eating, snacking, and occasionally regretting my choices.

For me, Disney dining isn’t really about the price tag. I know, I know — it’s definitely pricey. But what I’m paying for is the feeling behind it. Sitting on the top floor of Disney's Riviera Resort at Topolino's Terrace with Mickey at my table? Worth it. Watching the sun set over Magic Kingdom from California Grill? COre memory.

But I also think it’s okay to say: not everything hits. I’ve had meals where I’m like… okay, so that was $70 for vibes only. And you know what? That’s part of the experience too. I’d rather have a few “meh” meals in the name of trying new things!

And here’s my biggest tip if you’re ever wondering if something is “worth it”: ask yourself how it fits into your version of magic. If a table-service dinner feels stressful or too slow for your family, skip it. If you LOVE themed dining and character experiences, book them proudly like the main character you are. There’s no right or wrong. Just delicious (and occasionally not-so-delicious) memories.

So yes, Disney table service dining is worth it — if it adds to your trip, not complicates it. My best advice? Mix the iconic must-tries with the snacks that surprise you, throw in a reservation or two, and enjoy the food journey for what it is: fun, nostalgic, and uniquely Disney.
